Father...had actually wanted to go and see K. in order to punish him... Only Mother had dissuaded him. But above all Mother herself generally didn't want to speak to anyone and her question about K.was no exception to that rule on the contrary, in mentioning him she could have said that she wished to see him, but she had not done so, and had thus made her intentions.
